About the Artist
BIO
Erica Kyle is a self-taught artist based in West Palm Beach, Florida, primarily working in acrylics. Drawing and painting have been lifelong sources of comfort and creative expression. Over the years, her artistic practice has evolved through exploration, experimentation, and a deep connection to color and emotion.
After temporarily shifting her focus to career and family, Erica ultimately felt a profound sense of unfulfillment without art in her life. Answering her creative calling, she founded Erica Kyle Creations and committed to creating and exhibiting her work regularly. She is a resident artist at The Peach Art Collective in West Palm Beach and an active member of the South Florida art community.
Erica’s work unfolds across three primary bodies of work, each reflecting a different dimension of her creative voice. Her Travel Series captures the essence of destinations around the world, painted in distinct color palettes that express the mood and atmosphere unique to each place. Her Playful Critters collection captures her whimsical side through lively depictions of curious animals, celebrating playfulness and personality on the canvas. Her ongoing Spiritual Birds series serves as a grounding force — calm, realistic portrayals of birds that symbolize peace, reflection, and spiritual connection. Together, these series embody the balance between wonder, joy, and serenity that defines her artistic practice.
Through serene palettes and expressive brushwork, Erica translates personal experiences and emotions into expressive, reflective compositions, creating paintings that invite viewers to experience calm, joy, and reflection. Erica's work has been exhibited in regional shows and includes public art installations, as well as permanent collections throughout South Florida.
Artist Statement
Inspired by French impressionism from a young age, Erica always felt a connection to the way artists captured mood and emotion with soft, expressive brushstrokes.
Erica's art blends realism with stylized elements, such as atmospheric impressionism and evocative backgrounds, focusing on the emotional inspiration behind the painting. Her work explores the connection between nature as the mirror to the spiritual world, often symbolized through birds. Birds serve as reminders to find stillness amid chaos and to observe the world in its natural rhythm. In the stillness, noise and distractions are removed, allowing nature to guide us to reconnect spiritually, with self, and a greater sense of purpose.
As a quiet observer of the world around her, Erica often finds words elusive when emotions surface. Instead, she channels these feelings onto the canvas.
